POKOTABI / Large
ラルジュ
Tucked into a quiet residential pocket of Higashi-Ogu, Large serves time-honoured yoshoku classics, from its signature soft omurice and crisp crab cream croquettes to pan-seared fish, homemade bread, and rich caramel pudding.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Set along a quiet street in Higashi-Ogu, Large is an unpretentious restaurant run by a chef who honed his craft at an established yoshoku eatery. The signature Large-style omurice drapes tender, softly set eggs over seasoned rice, delivering a mellow depth of comforting savouriness. Classics across the Western-influenced menu reflect the same exacting technique, including crab cream croquettes with delicate crusts that yield to rich, velvety bechamel.
Main courses offer plenty of variety. The pan-seared fish of the day arrives with fragrant roasted vegetables, pairing a crisp skin with subtle, balanced seasoning. Meat dishes are equally well-represented, featuring hearty cabbage rolls in warming broth, fork-tender pork stew, and sauted pork loin. Lunch sets allow guests to choose warm homemade bread alongside or instead of rice, making it easy to enjoy every drop of sauce.
Midday meals come with refreshing coleslaw and a drink, while evening dining expands into multi-course meals built around appetisers and comforting soups. For dessert, the kitchen prepares a firmer, traditional homemade pudding with pleasantly bitter caramel, rounding off an unhurried, satisfying meal in a calm neighbourhood setting.
